What Do You Do?

My predominate ministry is teaching the children who are living at Bethesda and those from the community that attend Jabulane Christian Academy. Jabulane is located on the Bethesda property and is a component of the ministry of Bethesda Outreach.

In addition to teaching at Jabulane, I am able to serve in a local church, assist with ministry teams visiting Bethesda, help with public relations, and continue to learn about and reach out to the community surrounding Bethesda.

Does Bethesda Really Need Another Teacher?
John Mixon, Director at Bethesda wrote the following:
Dear Partner in Ministry,

South Africa has been identified as the country with the greatest number of HIV/AIDS-infected people in the world. Recent reports reveal that more than five million South Africans are currently living with the impact of HIV/AIDS, while some areas have estimated infection rates of more than 40% of the total population. While this information is not new, the impact of these figures is becoming clearer to our churches, communities, the government, and the global community at large. Bethesda is committed to come alongside of the local church to help rescue orphans of South Africa so that they will have the opportunity to become disciples of Christ.

As Director of Bethesda, the main obstacle I face is the need to add trained and equipped individuals to our staff. Staff members must have strong biblical standards and practices that will enable them to in turn become trainers of both South African children and staff. We must raise children within the South African context for us to be effective in the days ahead. However, because of the overwhelming need, we cannot wait for key South Africans to be fully trained and ready to take on this huge task. It is important that ongoing training of individuals takes place so that they become skilled in the handling of the Word of God to take on the task of raising orphans.

I am thankful that Heather Rumley was appointed as a missionary to Bethesda in July 2005. She has gone through her training and is waiting to be commissioned until she readches full financial support. I have known Heather since she was a little girl and have watched her grow and mature into a godly woman whose goal is to please and serve God. She is needed desperately to fill the position of elementary teacher in our school at Bethesda.

Please consider helping this ministry by supporting Heather financially. She is a proven servant of God and will be a huge asset to the ministry of Bethesda. I know you have many requests that come acress your desk on a weekly basis, but I would ask you to prayerfully consider helping her attain full support as soon as possible.
